QA Tester (Fixed term)

Love games? Are you looking for a way into the games industry? We are growing our exciting new strategy games studio and are looking for a QA Test Engineer, for a new premium tactics game being developed at Absolutely Games and someone who will grow along with the company. The game has incredible prospects, and will build to be a pillar franchise with its world renowned publisher. Your job will be to test the hell out of our game for functionality and playability, across multiple devices, working directly with the development team.

• Fixed term employed position (3 to 6 months negotiable) with potential for longer term role

• Location: Guildford, Surrey: on-site

Job Description

We need talented people to help us build our high fidelity strategy game on PC and consoles. As a big part of a small team of highly creative individuals, you will get to do a lot of different types of work:

• Find and report bugs in a clear and concise manner
• Perform regular regression testing to validate that bugs are fixed
• Validate new content, features and fixes from the development team for both quality and functionality before those changes are submitted to the game
• Proactively give feedback on the significance of the bugs encountered, the status of the current build and your perception of the game’s quality
• Work autonomously, prioritising work in accordance with the project’s needs
• Support the development, production and marketing teams according to specific requests
• Take an active interest in game quality, ensuring content is at the highest quality

Requirements

• Excellent English, both written and spoken
• Strong team working skills
• Attention to detail, with strong eye for things that look out of place
• Should have worked in games QA previously and understand how to produce a good bug report
• Significant experience of playing PC and console games, ideally within the strategy genre
• Must already be fully eligible to work in the UK, we cannot sponsor work permits.
